Day 1: Arrive in Kigali, transfer to D R Congo.

Upon arrival in Kigali, guests will be picked up from the airport by a professional tourist guide. Undertake the journey to Congo in the comfortable tourist vehicles. The tourist guide will brief you about the entire trip as you embark on this Journey to Congo.

On arrival in Goma Congo, you’ll check in at the accommodation facility where you will be served delicious meals. Relax the entire afternoon as you enjoy the views of the Virunga mountain ranges. A delicious dinner will be served at the lodging facility after which you will be accommodated for the night.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Virunga National Park.

After having breakfast at the lodge, guests will embark on the 20-minute drive to the headquarters of Virunga National Park. Here, you’ll meet the Ranger guides.

The guides will brief you about the exhilarating gorilla trek you are yet to embark on. They will equip you with the necessary information about the rules and regulations that govern the activity and the safety measures.

The Ranger guides will accompany you to the forest at around 8:00 AM to undertake the exciting mountain gorilla trek. This activity may go on up to six to seven hours. When you encounter the mountain gorilla families, you’ll be allowed a maximum of an hour to observe them and take pictures with them that will remind you of this exciting safari.

Luxuriate in the habitat of the mountain gorillas and watch their fascinating behaviors up close. You will then transfer back to the lodge where you will be served lunch.

Relax at the lodge the entire evening as you marvel at the breathtaking beauty of the forest and the towering mountain ranges. Dinner will be served at eventide, and you’ll have a nighttime rest.

Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking in Virunga National Park.

Today have breakfast at sunrise after which you will undertake the transfer to the Rumangabo sector In Virunga National Park. The sector is a renowned home for the chimpanzees.

You will meet the Ranger guides and after undertaking the Congo chimpanzee trekking Safari activity. The activity usually takes two to four hours. The chimpanzee trekking activity will immerse the guests into the beauty of the tropical rainforests as they stare at the various captivating wildlife animals and rare plants. Visitors will be allowed a maximum of 60 minutes when the chimpanzee families are encountered. Observe the chimpanzees as the tourist guide provides information about them. Go ahead and take pictures, record videos with the chimpanzees that will be evidence of a life well lived in the Virunga National Park when you leave.

Guests will then travel back to the lodge and have lunch. After lunch, you will embark on a community visit to the Batwa people. They are a renowned hunter gatherer community who coexist with the primates in the forest.

Enjoy the interaction with these local people the entire afternoon and after transfer back to the lodge at sunset. Dinner will be served, and you will be accommodated overnight.

Day 4: Depart for Kigali.

The visitors will be served delicious meal in the morning at the lodge and after checking out of the facility to embark on the journey back to Kigali. This journey will take you approximately 3-5 hours covering the 187-kilometer distance. In Kigali you will get on board for the flights back home which will be the end of the safari.
